Georgia Bulldogs sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle entered the transfer portal during the spring window. On3's Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos have both predicted that Tuggle will commit to the Purdue Boilermakers.
Tuggle would be returning to his home state of Indiana. Tuggle played high school football for Northwood High School in Nappanee, Indiana. He was the third-ranked recruit in Indiana in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver would be the third Georgia receiver to transfer to Purdue in the past two seasons. Tuggle would join wide receivers CJ Smith (who transferred again to Memphis this offseason) and De'Nylon Morrissette as the three UGA receivers to recently transfer to Purdue, who went 1-11 in 2024 (no wins against Power Four opponents). Last season with Purdue, Smith caught six passes for 69 yards and Morrissette caught 11 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
Tuggle, who is a former four-star recruit, played in eight games during the 2024 season with UGA. He posted three catches for 34 yards as a true freshman including two catches for 25 yards against the Tennessee Volunteers. Tuggle is an excellent route runner and has three seasons of eligibility left.
In March, Tuggle was arrested for reckless driving and suspended for the remainder of spring practice along with offensive lineman Marques Easley. Both Tuggle and Easley have entered the transfer portal.
This spring, Georgia has had three transfer portal departures and three additions.
