The No. 10 seed Georgia Bulldogs softball team lost 3-1 in Game 1 of the Knoxville Super Regional against the No. 7 seed Tennessee Volunteers. Both Georgia and Tennessee had seven hits, but the Volunteers did a better job of converting their opportunities in Game 1.
Georgia doesn't have much time to dwell on the result as Game 2 is coming on Friday afternoon and the Bulldogs are facing elimination. Tennessee has a chance to advance to the Women's College World Series with a win on Friday. Georgia will look to bounce back in Game 2 to force a decisive Game 3.
Both Georgia and Tennessee threatened to score in the first inning, but neither team was able to capitalize. It is 0-0 heading into the top of the second.
The Oklahoma-Mississippi State softball game is running late, so the Georgia-Tennessee game is starting on ESPNEWS. Georgia-Tennessee will move to ESPN2 after the conclusion of the Oklahoma-Mississippi State softball game. Pitcher Randi Roelling gets the start for UGA.
