SEC rivals clash to open the Knoxville Super Regional on Thursday night when the No. 10-seeded Georgia Bulldogs (41-18) visit the seventh-seeded Tennessee Lady Volunteers (45-10) in Game 1 of the best-of-three series.

Tennessee went unbeaten in its regional last weekend, beating Northern Kentucky and topping Virginia twice to advance to its fourth consecutive Super Regional as it looks for a second straight trip to the Women’s College World Series. Alannah Leach and Emma Clarke enter play sharing the team lead with 12 home runs, while Ella Dodge has a team high 46 RBI. The Lady Vols bounced back in the regionals after losing their first game at the SEC tournament on May 6. Karlyn Pickens (14-7) leads the pitching staff, working to a 1.56 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with 170 strikeouts in 125.1 innings, posting nine complete games and six saves.
Georgia, also hosting a regional, went 3-0 with victories over Charleston, UNC Greensboro and Clemson to advance to the Super Regional for the fourth straight season. The Bulldogs last reached the Women’s College World Series in 2021. Keirstin Roose tops the club with 15 home runs, while Tyler Ellison has 46 RBI and Sarah Gordon slashes .404/.464/.725 for a team-best 1.189 OPS to go with 12 homers and 45 RBI. Randi Roelling (18-9) brings a 3.05 ERA and 1.25 WHIP into play in 144.2 innings of work.
Despite being conference rivals, the Super Regional marks the first meeting this season between the Bulldogs and Tennessee. The teams last faced each other in the NCAA tournament in 2018, when Georgia swept the Lady Vols in the Athens Super Regional.
