The Pittsburgh Steelers selected former Georgia Bulldogs cornerback Daylen Everette with the 85th overall pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL draft. Everette was a star throughout his time in Athens and could be a steal in the third round.

Everette spent four total seasons in the Bulldogs' secondary from 2022 to 2025. The star won a national championship during his freshman campaign at Georgia in 2022, as the talented cornerback was excellent across his entire career in Athens. The former Bulldog has reportedly been putting his talent on full display during Steelers’ OTAs (organized team activities) this week, as Everette has continued to impress Pittsburgh’s coaching staff prior to training camp.

Steelers’ defensive back coach Jason Simmons recently credited Everette for his humility, as the rookie has continued to shine in Pittsburgh following draft night. Simmons credited the former Bulldog for tackling any challenge put in front of him as well, as Everette appears to be emerging as standout from the Steelers’ 2026 rookie class. The rookie will look to win a starting role throughout the remainder of OTAs and training camp later this summer, but Everette is headed in the right direction throughout his first month as a Pittsburgh Steeler.

The Georgia Bulldogs continue to produce elite NFL talent on a yearly basis in addition to Everette. Former Georgia DT Christen Miller was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of this years’ draft, while star wide receiver Zachariah Branch was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in Round 3. Eight total Georgia players were picked in the 2026 draft.
