The feel-good story of Dominique Wilkins’ son playing for Georgia basketball just like the NBA legend seems to be coming to an end.
Freshman guard Jake Wilkins is entering the transfer portal, he posted on social media late Monday night April 7 ahead of the transfer portal opening Tuesday.
It comes after a season when the 6-foot-9, 185-pound forward made his share of electrifying, highlight-reel plays but played limited minutes for a Bulldogs team that reached the NCAA Tournament.
Jake Wilkins reached 20 dunks last season, but averaged just 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds with 14 blocks and 12 3-pointers. But Wilkins played just 10.2 minutes per game including 9 minutes in the 102-77 loss to Saint Louis on March 19 in Buffalo in a first-round NCAA loss.
With three starters already announcing intentions to enter the transfer portal, Wilkins minutes were sure to increase, but instead he became the sixth Bulldog to head to the portal.
