San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle addressed the Brandon Aiyuk situation during his appearance on "Chris Simms Unbuttoned," choosing his words carefully around a topic he said isn't his to fully explain.
"I feel like the Niners have done a very good job throughout the entire process and have tried," Kittle said. "[Head coach] Kyle [Shanahan] has tried, [general manager] John [Lynch] has tried, teammates have tried, and this is where we are."
While he didn't go into details of what the team has done to try and settle their dispute with Aiyuk, Kittle was careful not to lay blame on anyone specifically. He pointed instead to his own decade-long experience with the franchise as a point of reference.
"I don't ever want to single out a player. I don't ever want to point a finger at anybody, but I've been here for 10 years," he said, "and I've been treated with nothing but respect and love my entire career."
Aiyuk's drama with the team has been around for some time and boiled over when the 49ers voided the guarantees on his contract when the receiver wasn't checking in for his ACL recovery in 2025. That ignited a firestorm of offseason social media posts that have left Aiyuk likely without a team for 2026 and possibly beyond.
With Aiyuk's status still unresolved heading into camp, Kittle's comments offer one of the more direct — if measured — glimpses yet into how the locker room views the front office's handling of the saga.
