The stakes were high for the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, but not because the franchise is anywhere near the playoff picture. With the No. 1 overall pick seemingly on the line against the New York Giants, many Raiders fans wanted their team to lose.

The players certainly didn't want to lose. That includes Geno Smith, who is at risk of being replaced by a player selected with the top pick and could be replaced regardless after a disappointing first season in Las Vegas.

After throwing two interceptions on Sunday and falling behind by a three-possession margin, Smith's day turned from bad to worse when he was forced to exit the game with an injury.

Smith collided with his own teammate after his second interception of the day against the Giants and limped off the field. The Raiders labeled Smith as questionable to return with an ankle injury.

While Smith was able to walk back under his own power, he made the trip back to the locker room as the Giants' offense took over. CBS Sports cameras captured Smith walking with a severe limp once inside the tunnel.

Smith previously missed the Raiders' Week 15 game with a shoulder injury, forcing backup Kenny Pickett into action. Even with a missed game, Smith's 17 interceptions lead the NFL.

The Raiders were trailing 27-10 when Smith exited, hurtling toward a loss that would put them in position to clinch the No. 1 overall pick in Week 18.
