I don't know. Is anybody asking for this? I much have preferred the Jon Snow cancelled project.

"the network is in the "very early development" stages of a Game of Thrones sequel series centered on the fan-favorite assassin Arya Stark, portrayed in the original series by Maisie Williams."

"This news comes on the heels of the official collapse of the long-gestating Jon Snow spinoff, a project that was reportedly shelved after HBO executives and star Kit Harington couldn't align on a creative direction that wasn't, well, overwhelmingly depressing"

I been asking for it since season 7!

Whats west of Westeros??
Well dammit, let's go find out!

Hell yeah, I am all on board for this project!!
Just too bad the Hound died...Klegain and Stark exploring the unknown would have been EPIC!!!

But there better be chickens...

Haha, no. Also, I'm just betting George freaking RR Martin wastes a bunch of time on this show then whines like a little bitch that people are upset he isn't writing the books. Money money money money, MONEY.

He won't ever finish the books.
Dude has always been a TV writer. The TV industry is his field and the people are his peers.
Being a success in his field and admired/envied by his peers is all he wanted.

The books were dead the moment HBO signed the contract.

If the man had any class at all he would hire a writer to use his notes and finish the books.
But then he wouldn't get the attention...and he has clearly demonstrated that "Attention *****" is the header on his resume.
He got paid.

Yep, he's a selfish *******. I think it's money as the header on his resume, though he's richer than Croesus already. Also, he's been famously quoted as loving "having written" and not writing books.

I've said it all along. If GRRM decided he can't finish the books and said he just isn't feeling ASoIaF any longer, no problem. He could walk away and be done. But no, he has to write and produce and consult and spend 20x more of his creative time on ASoIaF spinoff properties than he ever will on the book.

I don’t think you appreciate how hard it to keep writing books that go in circles with detailed characters that don’t factor into anything to keep the $$ coming in.

He had an interview recently where he basically said the books are never getting finished. In a nutshell he said that he's lost interest in that story but loves the world which completely makes sense after seeing what he's actually released.

He should bring in another writer to finish the books but he never will. In the past he's said that the characters are his children and that they die with him. He's not going to approve of anyone else writing them. He speaks like ancient times where they'd kill and bury slaves along side their owner when he died. It's a bit twisted and very selfish.

Does he have children? I have seen where other authors have died, and their works were finished by one or more of their offspring. I am worried about Dark Winds. One of my favorite shows. Of course the subject matter he didn't write, but he and Robert Redford were the main producers. Now that Redford is dead, I worry he loses interest in this venture as well.

No children. The books and characters are his kids.

That's interesting. I told my first wife something similar once when she got pissed that I wouldn't let Scholastic publish a few of my poems.
I told her, "I created these and they are like my children. I can't let them out into the world until they are ready...and they ain't ready yet"
.
She never did understand.
