Florida State has secured three-star safety Jemari Foreman, as his recruitment has been shut down. However, they need another piece at the position, and four-star Ta'Shawn Poole is the prize they're after.

On July 17, Poole will make his decision. He will be choosing between the Tennessee Volunteers, Georgia Bulldogs, and FSU. Each school has had big momentum at some point, but Florida State and Georgia have been the main characters as of late.

As far as Poole knowing who he'll choose a week from now, he's not far away from making that determination.

“I have an idea about which school, but I’m still thinking about it,” Poole told Rivals. “I’m not 100% sure of the school yet, but I am getting really close.”

Poole has said that the school he ultimately chooses will be because of the staff that he's the most comfortable with. He mentioned last month that he could see himself being a leader at FSU, which shows there's a lot of comfort in terms of how he sees himself performing in Tallahassee.

Not only does Poole bring skills as a safety, but he also gained over 650 yards on offense and scored 11 touchdowns as a junior. He's an athlete, and his time as a wide receiver only helps him understand the nuances of the position and increases his ability to make plays as a defender.

Much like the aforementioned Foreman, who snagged 10 interceptions during his junior season, Florida State needs to close Poole and bring his diverse skill set to the roster. It would be a major win in recruiting, and it would also give the Seminoles their first commitment in the 2027 cycle inside the top 100.
