Rookie DE Calvin Pace has shown impressive quickness since joining the team, but he also has surprising strength. At 262 pounds, Pace doesn't have great size, but he's built well and has more than held his own against offensive tackles. He was drafted to rush the passer, and he could be the best end the team has had since Simeon Rice. Pace's pass-rushing skills are similar to Rice's, although Pace doesn't have Rice's wingspan. But Pace hustles and has nice speed off the edge. He failed to get a sack in his NFL debut but should finish the season with at least 10.

I agree 100%

I'm happy that several reports I've read of the Cardinals have been fair. Up till just recenlty everything was "the Cards suck and have no good players and will be lucky to win 3 games." I don't fault anyone for not expecting us to win many games, but I'm sick of the ignorance in claiming that we're completely talentless and have no hope whatsoever. While they still don't expect much from us this year saying we will lose a bunch of games but that we have some promising young stars such as Boldin and Pace shows that they are starting to pay at least a little bit of attention. I'm sick and tired of hearing that we wasted a pick by taking Pace in the first round. Not many of the first round picks have done much so far and Pace didn't do bad against a Detroit teams that allowed the fewest sacks last year. BTW, since everyone kept saying he was a 3rd round talent and a reach, a 3rd round pick (Jason Taylor) led the league in sacks last year. KGB was a 3rd round pick also. I'm sure if teams knew they would produce like that they would've been 1st round picks.

and what was the rating by the experts on draft day? somewhere between c and f...one game does not make a season - but if boldin continues to play well, pace gets some sacks and johnson steps up - it will look pretty good...King and hayes have potential and did not play that well in the opener - but they will improve (I saw hayes whiff a couple of tackles on special teams).

you also have to count what we did on draft day by trading a 7th rounder for foster - he has not done anything - but is still a starter...
