I for one love lists.
I particularly love off-season lists. It helps pass the time and it is great source of content and debate.
Regarding Nebraska football in 2026 we already knew that the Huskers will be facing a gauntlet of a schedule. They will be playing three of the top five teams in the country based off of preseason expectations in the form of Oregon, Ohio State and Indiana.
Then add Iowa, Washington and Illinois and a team in Nebraska that is looking to make a jump and show progress will have its work cut out for it.
Well Antonio Morales and Sam Kahn Jr. of The Athletic published their comprehensive list of projected starting quarterbacks for every team in Division 1 college football.
Based off of that list, it looks like Nebraska will face five of the top 21 quarterbacks in the country in 2026. It looks like this:
#2 – Dante Moore – Oregon
#5 – Julian Sayin – Ohio State
#12 – Josh Hoover – Indiana
#20 – Demond Williams Jr. – Washington
#21 – Malik Washington – Maryland
Luckily for Nebraska, the next Quarterback on the list that will affect winning or losing for Nebraska is its own projected starting quarterback with Anthony Colandrea at #39.
The rest of relevant Big Ten opponent rankings for Nebraska are Katin Houser of Illinois at #41, Alessio Milivojevic of Michigan State at #69, Jeremy Hecklinski of Iowa at #106 (but we know this is almost irrelevant with Iowa) and Dylan Lonergan of Rutgers at #107.

Fall Camp is nearly here as Nebraska prepares to face arguably its toughest schedule of the Matt Rhule era.
The opponents consist of several high-powered offenses, three of which were in the College Football Playoff a year ago. Paired with a new 4-2-5 scheme, transfers and returning Blackshirts, they will attempt to combat them under first-year defensive coordinator Rob Aurich.

Ten rising college football quarterbacks who could make a jump this season
On Tuesday, The Athletic published our ranking of the 138 projected starting quarterbacks for the 2026 season. There were plenty of familiar names near the top of the list, such as Trinidad Chambliss (No. 1), CJ Carr (No. 3) and Arch Manning (No. 7).
Two of those players, Chambliss and Carr, were relative unknowns at this point last year. Sure, Carr was a former top-100 national recruit who played for Notre Dame, but he had yet to attempt a pass in college and wasn’t even the sure-fire starter. Chambliss, meanwhile, was a projected backup who transferred from a Division II school.
Fever’s Clark earns 7th technical foul; one away from 1-game ban
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark picked up her seventh technical foul of the season during Wednesday night’s 123-88 home win over the Connecticut Sun, putting her one technical away from receiving an automatic one-game suspension.
Clark’s seven technicals are tied for the most in the WNBA with Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese. She now has 15 in her career, the second most in a player’s first three seasons in league history, behind Reese’s 19, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
TE Travis Vokolek retires due to neck injury suffered last season
Former Arizona Cardinals tight end Travis Vokolek has announced his retirement from the NFL because of a neck injury he suffered in a game last season.
Vokolek, 28, made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday night.
“STICK TO SPORTS!” Nah.
