1. Shirts & shorts. No pads because scrimmage tonight will be in full pads.

2. Shaun King and McCown continue to look good. Navarre? Ugh.

3. WR Karl Williams now is the 3rd WR starter. Had a very nice day with three good grabs. Denny Green said WR Fabian Davis is now in the mix because he haas good hands and is very fast.

4. Gilmore held out with swollen knee. With both Z receivers (deep) injured (Gilmore and Bryant Johnson) team will not work on deep patterns much.

5. Starks and KVB will be held out of the scrimmage because it's on artificial turf.

6. Wakefield back at starting LDE, kVB second team.

7. CB David Macklin had a pair of nice knockdowns on passes meant for Quan.

8. Goalline offense scored four times in a row. Pass to Freddie Jones, run by McCown, run by Shipp?, swing pass to FB? About damned time. Security guys blocked part of my view.

9. Fitz had one incredible grab where he reached up between three guys and just snatched the pass.

10. Mostly watched the DBs and LBs and dline in drills. Darnell Dockett is a big man. So too is Dansby.

11. We've got 4 people with long locks who might make the team - Mike Stone, Dockett, Fitz, and Clement. That alone should be worth 6 wins.

12. Too hot today so I hid in the shade and missed some action. Both Dexter Jackson and Levar Fisher might be ready to come off PUP on Monday.

13. Practice game Saturday at 10 am with full headsets, referees, game clock but will be two-hand touch in shorts. Purpose is to prepare coaches for the games.

14. Two minute drill is a big part of every practice this year.

It's that Samson thing, you know, from the Bible? The guy was stronger than everyone else when he had long hair, then some skanky chick cuts it and his life goes down the drain, and he ends up eye-less, but then knocks over some pillars and kills everyone.

Does Fitz have hair out the back of his helmet like Stone?

What a difference a couple days make. It almost sounded like he would be cut soon.

NOT GOOD. If the key to Denny's offense is the deep threat we need at least one of these guys to step up.

:bang: Why can't someone beat Wakefield out of the LDE position. That doesn't give me much confidense in KVB, Pace, or Johnson.

I have a thought Maybe Wakefield is turning into one solid football player. He brings it every play.

Not really. Only Stone has long dreads. Clement has long hair but he braids it tight on game days.

Thanks, Skkorp. I am just not big on the hockey-hair-out-the-back-of-the-helmet look. Dreads or braids or mullets or whatever.

Maybe KVB was demoted because he will not be playing tonight. Just a one day thing.

He was demoted for not growing long corn-rows like Stone, Docket and AC. :p

How is Clement playing, Skorp?

Dan, honest-to-god, I can't tell. And neither can any of the good reporters I talk to daily. The oline is breaking down repeatedly but without having a coaching clicker and knowing the scheme, I just don't know.

To my eye, at full speed, in pads, KVB is beating him like a drum. Wakefield might be too. I'm always on the BIG/Berry side of the field, but I'll take a good long look on Monday.

All I can tell you is Denny Green is not that down on the offense, rather he's excited about this defense. He tells us over and over again that we have a fast, smart defense that is going to be good. He never says that about the offense.

He raves about our speed at DE/DT/LB/S. He has said from day 1 that we will have a good defense. Even when he defends his offense by saying it's normal for them to be behind, he still goes on to say that this will be a good defense.
