Seattle Seahawks stars Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Devon Witherspoon and Nick Emmanwori were recognized in a great way among the NFL’s most prominent players on Monday.
According to CBS Sports’ Zachary Pereles, Darnold, Smith-Njigba, Witherspoon and Emmanwori were recognized as four of the top 100 most important players in the NFL for the 2026 season.
Darnold was the orchestrator of the Seahawks’ Super Bowl-winning team last season. He threw for 4,000 yards for the second consecutive season in 2025 and added 25 passing touchdowns on the year. He stood out as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and stood tall above the rest with the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.
Smith-Njigba won the 2025 AP Offensive Player of the Year award last season. He led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,793, and added 10 REC touchdowns on the year. Smith-Njigba was the most dangerous deep-ball threat last season and helped Seattle open up its offense as an impact player.
Witherspoon established himself as one of the premier cornerbacks in the NFL in 2025. He earned second-team All-Pro honors last season and was Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded cornerback with a player grade of 90.1 given to him for the work that he did on the year.
Emmanwori established himself as one of the best defensive rookies in the league last season, finishing as the runner-up for the 2025 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He was lauded as being one of the most impactful players in Seattle’s secondary last season and helped Seattle contain opposing offenses all year long.
