– I am very encouraged by LaFleur’s scheme. Obviously you don’t show much in practice games, but it sure looks as QB- and WR friendly as expected. Even if the defense sucks this season, and the team doesn’t win many games, it should be more fun to watch the Cards.
– It is simply just sad to see the pass rush from the edge rushers. And even if Josh Sweat actually plays a game for the Cards, what is he going to do with those non-impact players on the opposite side? The other team can basically block him with five guys.
I would use a mid-round pick to buy someone. I have previously suggested Alex Highsmith (Steelers), but I would also consider underachieving mega talents like Kayvon Thibodeaux (Giants) and Nolan Smith (Eagles).
– I was so bummed to find out that Beck was not playing. I had looked forward to him hopefully putting more pressure on LaFleur to start him in week one. Some posters here want to pour water on the hype, but don’t mind if you are also in the Beck camp. It is completely fair, understandable and justifiable if you want to dream big, and we certainly deserve it after many years of QB failure. Sure, Brissett and Minshew played well, but I want Beck to start every game this season, and that is certainly not an irrational take.
– Karson Shahar making plays both on special teams and defense. That’s how you grab a roster spot.
– Maybe a month or so after the draft I started second-guessing my thinking about Rueben Bain and was annoyed that they did not draft him – both because of him and the lack of pass rush. So far, this offseason has not made me change my mind.
However, Love looks like he could become an absolute stud, and I still think that if LaFleur wanted him, I’m good with that. LaFleur can utilize Love as a mismatch for 99% of all NFL defenders.
– You should be very encouraged by Isaiah Adams. Probably the best offensive lineman out there.
– Did I see Marvin Harrison run a crosser-route? And score? Did you see the same, Mr. Petzing?
– It sucks what happened to Bisontis. I did not zero in on him against Carolina, but he has gotten a lot of praise for his performance, so I thought I would do it this time. He was good.
– For the second straight week, Blake Gillikin proves that he is ready.
– You can’t do anymore to claim a roster spot than Jalen Brooks has done this offseason. You simply can’t.
