Nick Emmanwori had an eventful rookie year in 2025, and after winning the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks at the end of the season, received honors as one of the best safeties in the NFL this summer.
CBS Sports ranked Emmanwori No. 3 overall in their safety rankings this summer.
“Emmanwori is a fascinating evaluation,” CBS Sports’ analysts said. “Multiple voters didn't have him on their ballot at all, yet he still finished third overall. He's a big nickel, a thumper coming downhill and a tremendous athlete. Questions about his coverage may have deterred some voters, but Mike Macdonald knows how to hide them.”
Baltimore Ravens star Kyle Hamilton (No. 1) and Los Angeles Chargers star Derwin James (No. 2) were the only two players to be ranked above Emmanwori at the position.
Emmanwori finished as the runner-up for the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2025. He recorded an interception, 11 passes defended and 2.5 sacks last season, proving his range as a do-it-all defender in the secondary last season.
