Auburn baseball just concluded another successful season on the diamond, and four of its most valuable players could hear their names called during the 2026 MLB Draft.
Four Tigers are included in D1Baseball's Final Top 250 College Prospect Rankings ahead of the MLB draft, including a valuable infielder and a key piece of Auburn's weekend rotation.
Second baseman Chris Rembert headlines Auburn's representation in the rankings, followed by third baseman Eric Guevara, shortstop Brandon McCraine, and left-handed pitcher Alex Petrovic.
Rembert kicks off the list as the No. 24 as a draft-eligible sophomore. Rembert led the team in average by batting .343, which ranked No. 11 among SEC batters. He ended the season with 18 extra base hits, which included 13 doubles. He also logged 46 RBI and was third on the team in steals with 12.
Heading into the MLB draft, Rembert is considered a top 60 prospect by several publications, including Baseball America, MLB Pipeline, and FanGraphs. Adam J. Morris, who covers the Texas Rangers for SBNation, is intrigued by Rembert's ability as a hitter and wants to see him add more power to his tool belt once he becomes a professional.
Rembert's hit tool is his carrying tool. He has good contact ability and bat speed, though his swing is such that he doesn't lift the ball much, resulting in a lot of ground balls and line drives. He puts up strong exit velocity numbers to go with his contact ability, with Keith Law noting that he can handle velocity. However, his power numbers are lacking due to the fact he doesn't tend to get lift on the balls he makes hard contact on.
Eric Guevara is next, checking in at No. 84. Guevara burst onto the scene as a sophomore in 2025 and was rewarded by earning two Player of the Week awards and a spot on the SEC All-Defensive Team. In 2026, Guevara became a mainstay by starting all 62 games for the Tigers, mostly at third base. He logged 13 home runs and 55 RBI as a junior in 2026, with 55 putouts and 113 assists as a fielder.
Brandon McCraine emerged as the team's starting shortstop in 2026 and has caught the attention of MLB scouts. McCraine hit .321 in 2026 with 29 RBI on 68 hits. The final Auburn representative is pitcher Alex Petrovic, who was known for his ability to lead Auburn to key wins in the final games of weekend series.
Which players will hear their name called during the MLB draft? The draft will begin Saturday, July 11, to kick off MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
