The Miami Dolphins made a change at quarterback this offseason, replacing Tua Tagovailoa with Malik Willis, who they signed to a three-year, $67.5 million contract with $45 million guaranteed.

Willis began his NFL career as a third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans, where he was former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill's backup. In two seasons in Tennessee, Willis appeared in 11 games and started three while completing just 53% of his passes for 350 yards and three interceptions and rushing for 144 yards and one touchdown.

The Titans traded Willis to the Green Bay Packers in 2024 for a seventh-round pick, and he went on to play in 11 games and start three again over the final two years of his rookie deal. He completed 78.7% of his passes for 972 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for another 261 yards and three scores.

While Willis hasn't had much playing time, his tape during his Packers tenure has impressed many, including former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel.

The Malik Willis really film surprised me.

The arm talent is legit. The pocket feel is way better than people think & there’s real upside here for the Dolphins.

Miami took a smart swing… now the big question is what this looks like when the season kicks off.#phinsuppic.twitter.com/tK3RX51GFN

Daniel seems to be a believer in Willi's arm and pocket presence, but in a new system with questionable weapons that also need to prove themselves, the quarterback has a lot on his plate in 2026.
