For the second consecutive day, Arkansas baseball has landed a projectable righty out of the transfer portal who just wrapped up his freshman season.
Houston's Connor Udland committed to the Razorbacks on Wednesday, June 17. Arkansas secured the commitment of Central Michigan's Luke Neiswonger on Tuesday, June 16.
Udland made seven starts and went 3-3 with a 5.87 ERA for the Cougars in 2026. He struck out 44 batters in 38⅓ innings and issued 22 walks. He began the year as a midweek starter before earning innings in Big 12 action.
The Texas native rotated between starter and reliever during the conference slate. He had some hiccups toward the end of the year, but he was still one of the key pieces on the Cougars' pitching staff as a freshman.
According to Perfect Game, Udland's fastball sits in the low 90s. He has two different breaking balls and uses them both with his 6-foot-4 frame.
The other five pitchers Arkansas has landed thus far through the portal are Neiswonger, Brayden Krenzel (Tennessee), Ridge Harvey (Belmont), Micah Henson (Crowder College) and Lance Alexander (Johnson County Community College).
The Hogs are still searching for a bona fide weekend starter out of the portal. Neiswonger is an option, but Arkansas needs to add at least one pitcher who will come in and immediately compete for innings in the SEC rotation.
Cole Gibler will return as another option, and Arkansas is awaiting clarification on Carson Wiggins future as the redshirt sophomore is eligible for the 2026 MLB Draft despite missing the most recent spring recovering from Tommy John Surgery.
