The Miami Dolphins, in getting ahead of the roster turnover that was coming this offseason, moved on from linebacker Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline and sent him to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, after half of a year, Phillips has agreed to a massive four-year, $120 million deal with the Carolina Panthers in the early stages of the legal-tampering period on Monday afternoon, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Phillips, 26, was a Dolphins first-round pick (No. 18 overall) in the 2021 NFL draft out of the University of Miami (FL). He appeared in 55 games for the Dolphins over five years, recording 177 tackles, 61 quarterback hits, 26 sacks, seven passes defensed, four fumbles recovered, one interception and one forced fumble.

In his eight games with the Eagles, he recorded 28 tackles, seven quarterback hits, four passes defensed, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovered.

If that's an indication of the pass rushing market this offseason, the Dolphins may be priced out of any solid options in free agency.
