The Miami Dolphins moved on from Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline and Bradley Chubb at the start of free agency, leaving their edge rushing group rather thin this offseason.

While they went on to sign Joshua Uche, David Ojabo and Robert Beal Jr., the Dolphins were looking to add more veteran help earlier this offseason, as the team hosted former Buffalo Bills defensive end A.J. Epenesa for a workout.

Unfortunately, Miami won't be able to sign Epenesa at this point in the offseason, as the 27-year-old agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.

Epenesa was a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft following a collegiate career at Iowa that saw him earn All-Big Ten honors twice and All-American honors once. In 91 games with the Bills, he recorded 135 tackles, 53 quarterback hits, 24 sacks, 21 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, four interceptions and three fumble recoveries.

For now, the Dolphins will roll with the trio of veterans they signed, as well as Chop Robinson, Cameron Goode, Seth Coleman, seventh-round pick Max Llewellyn and undrafted rookies Mason Reiger and Rodney McGraw on the edge.
