Former Auburn general manager Will Redmond has found his new job, and it is with one of the most storied franchises in the history of the NFL. On Thursday, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported that Redmond will join the Green Bay Packers organization in a front office role. Redmond served as the general manager of Auburn's football program since 2022, when Hugh Freeze was hired as Auburn's head coach.
Before Redmond joined Auburn's staff in 2022, he was part of the LSU football program. Redmond was hired at LSU in 2021, where he served as director of player personnel. Before arriving in Baton Rouge, he spent time at Middle Tennessee State and Kansas. He has spent a coaching career scouting and identifying football talent.
Redmond was not retained when new Auburn head coach Alex Golesh took over the program. Golesh is replacing Redmond with Andrew Warsaw, who was the USF Bulls' name, image, and likeness general manager and associate athletic director.
The Packers had an opening in the front office after the departure of vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan to take the open general manager job for the Miami Dolphins. This was after the Dolphins had hired Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as their new head coach. It is unknown what the exact position Redmond will have with the Packers under general manager Brian Gutekunst.
