I don't see why you are so enamored of Parcells. He's been out of the league for what, three, four years? And he has had less and less success at each stop.

Stating that the Cardinals have no shot to beat a Dallas team that we beat last year is just plain Cardinal bashing.

Well considering that Emmit is the starter here and just got cut from the Cowboys so that they could START Hambrick - ah I'm not getting into first because you are not taking what I said into account - OVERALL the Talent levels here and in Dallas are the same. Do I think HUtchinson and Carter are better than Blake? NO - but their defense is a hell of a lot better than ours. And how you can knock a guy that took a 1-15 club and just TWO years later took them to the AFC cahmpionship game where they led one of the better teams of the last decade at halftime on the road, not to mention resurrecting a morbid franhcise such as the Pats into the SUPER BOWL not doing much, much less ingoring two SUPER BOWL rings, the second of which with that putrid Giants teams with JEFF HOSTETLER at the helm somehow beating Buffalo best squad not something to be enamored with than you are simply out to lunch.

And stating that we have no shot to beat a Dallas team that we beat IN OVERTIME AT HOME WHEN WE WERE STILL HEALTHY AND WITH BOSTON HAVING A 100 YARD GAME THAT HAS ADDED ONE OF THE GREATEST COACHES EVER ON A FIELD WHERE WE HAVEN'T WON IN FIVE YEARS isn't called bashing, it's called knowing football.

Maybe we should just put a big red S on his chest. He doesn't have a QB or a RB or an OL worth talking about, so he's going to beat everybody with the teriffic defense Dallas has, right? Hold all the other teams to 0 points and just kick field goals. Yeah, right.

No - just us. Never said anything about him beating everyone else.

Hye Crimson - I really doubt you have any idea how much I love this team. It's that kind of passion which gets me so upset - do you honestly think anyone who doesn't like the Cradinals has the ridiuclous amount of time and knowledge that I have? Are you one of those people who think there are actual hordes of people out there who dislike this this team? I got news for you - no one but us cares. As far as the Dallas comments, Why don't you put more words in my mouth while you're at it - sorry if my words sting because they are true and if you can't accept the fact that Parcells is heads and tails a better coach than Mac and if you believe our talent level is so far ahead of the cowboys overall, than I really doubt you watch football. When attacked, I will attack back - excuse me for not sharing your optimism - I may disagree with it, but I never tell you to go cheer for another team or get lost. That just sucks,

Well - considering both of us were here before Kerouac got banned, and even before he registered I believe, that really is a tough call.

Do you ever have to work, or be around someone who is negative all the time? It is a real downer. That is what you and Ouchie are to this board. Why do you bother posting here when all you do is bring everyone down?

And if you were really the all-knowing football genius that you claim to be, you would know that Emmitt was released for salary cap reasons. No one (except for maybe you) believes that Troy Hambrick is better than Emmitt Smith.

Whoa. Time to back up. Cheese and Ouchie drive me crazy, along with several others, but if you read them, they do support this team. That's good enough.

Just put them in your ignore list if you don''t want to read them. Kerouac, on the other hand, was pure poison.

Renz, those guys are hard to take but you don't have to read them.

Wasn't Emmit phased out of Dallas running game last byear after he set the record to give Hamrbick more playing time? AND didn't Emmitt actually, the leader that he is, come out and complain about his lack of carries in the face of Hambrick's increased workload? And maybe Emmitt is still better than Hambrick,. but is that something to beat on your chest about?

Amen my brother. We only say these things because we care. If I or cheese or ouchie didnt care we wouldnt waste our time on this board or watching every single cards game. The cardinals are my life, i am mad most of the week when they lose. I have broken a tv due to my rage during the playoff game against minnesota. I am as devoted as anyone else and im sure cheese and ouchie are too. When my or anyone else's devotion comes into question it makes me upset. What gives you the right crimsion to question anyone's devotion? Your opinion counts just as much as anyone elses no more no less. Without differing opinnions this board would suck. W/o people like 40year fan and rugby muffin my life on this board would be boring. Noone who consistantly writes on this board should ever have their devotion questions. BTW go look at the dallas defense maybe you will find some players like greg ellis, la'roi glover, roy williams, terance newman, darren woodson, and dexter coakley. I dont know about you but i would want all those players on my team. Name one defensive player we have that is better than them?

If ouchie or cheese are banned or even silenced on this board i would leave. They support their ideas and never say anything personal. They stick to football. This board would not be the same without them. This is about football. No matter wat your opinnions are. If you want start a kool aid board so that way you guys can all talk about how great the cards are gonna be and how they will make the playoffs and how espn and the national media suck. But i was under the assumption that this board was open to all cards fans. Am i right or wrong?

Jesus, that's a lot of talent. I never even realized what they had there but when you put all those guys together - that's scary. Renz and Crimson, I'll say this again since no one took me up on it earlier - let's make a bet - loser has to give proceeds to Skkorp to put into the site. 50 bucks says we lose to the Boys in October. It's a no lose situation on different levels. You win - means the Cards win and everyone's happy. I win, well Skkorp gets a little help to continue making this board the best site on the net - again we all win. Wha do you say?

man. how can you bet against your own team? that's exactly what I'm talking about. I would never think of betting against the cardinals under any circumstances (unless they were 80 point favorites or something i.e. and chance to make some serious money).

Cheesebeef, you are intelligent and articulate. But I just don't believe you are cardinals fan. I think you just hang out on this board to kill time and stir up crap. sorry dude.

Whoa again, nobody is going to get banned. Several of us are being "realists" and pointing out to the dark siders that they have gone too far in their criticism of Graves.

Well then I truly know that your opinion means absolutely nothing to me - because if you think ANYONE has the amount of knowledge and opinion and time tp talk about this team and ISN'T a fan, then I don't undertsand how your brain works. Sorry dude. Hey Crimson - do you own a piece of the field from SDS the night the Cards beat San Diego? Do you know what the Republic headline read on the sports page after we beat Dallas in the playoff game? DOMINATION IN DALLAS - to go along with a sick picture of Troy Aikman about to be planted by Jamir Miller. Do you know why I know these things? Because I keep things that are impo - ah, screw it - I said my peace - you don't think I'm a Card fan - it just invalidates everything that you write as far as I'm concerned.

we desperately need training camp and preseason start. I think EVERYBODY would agree with that.

People who hate Cheese and Ouchie's response:

"HOW CAN YOU SAY EVERYBODY? How do you know what we're thinking? That's ridiculous! We will go at least 8-8 this year and the media hate us!":D

I'm just saying man, being a fan is something that you are supposed to enjoy, and you have to have a little optimism to enjoy being a cardinals fan. :D

its fun to get a thread going where everybody is agreeing that the cardinals did something right. Then here comes chese and ouchie:

blah blah blah the cardinals suck, blah blah blah, statistics, blah blah blah.

just try the kool aid. it tastes good and it makes you feel good

obviously skorp respects you. and that means something. so I wont belabor the point, and i will quit my whining. you probably get more props than me from the other posters on this board anyway.

back to football. allright?

Family.

I can't think of anyone on this board (currently) who is not part of the BIG RED fan-family.

Just remember, family can talk about the negatives with family, just don't let an outsider try and get away with it.

I am convinced the 'beef and the 'clown have the BIG RED disease, curse, affliction the rest of have. They are passionate about the team too. They do seem to focus on the weakness' and area's that need to be improved. Fair enough. There are plenty of cool-aid and Cardinal Red colored vendors on this board for balance.

Still, all in the family.

By the way, I would talk Parcells over Mac in a second. I still like Mac, best coach that we have had in 10 years+.

AND...we will kick Dallas's ASS come October. Smith (burning for this) led by the punishing lead blocking of Hodgins and a HUGE offensive line playing healthy and together for the first time is want I am banking on. When Dallas stacks the box, Blake makes them pay like Jake should have by timely deliveries to Freddy and our emerging WR threat (player to be named later). Our Defense will be enough for cowpies' anemic offense because they will be well rested courtesy of our offensive ball-control game plan.

OK, Cheesy...I have convinced myself. I got your $50 covered. I live in Mesa, let me now where you want to watch the game and drink some beer (first one is on me) and I will bring my wallet and my mouth. Smile Skorp...you should start more threads like this (your attendance to collect from the loser is required)!

I ,for one, will be very thankful when the club goes to camp and the preseason starts so that we can see and comment on some football, not just speculate. That said, this has been a great thread, lots of give and take, lots of good arguments from all sides.

Carry on.

Sadly - living in Los Angeles, I will probably be at some lame ass bar like Yankee Doodles screaming at the TV hoping I'm 50 bucks lighter in the wallet. Appreciate the offer of beer though - as far as the bet, you're on.

Ain't it the truth. This is the first time in years that I, and probably most of us, have no real clue as to what kind of team we will have.

I don't remember the Cards in a position like this off season where the personnell and coaching could produce either 3-13 or 11-5 or anywhere in between. Normally they either look great on paper going in only to have a series of bad breaks and finish 5-11 or they look like they are going to stink but pull a couple of upsets and finish 5-11.

i just can't wait for football to start. now i may not be as optimistic about the squad's chances as i have been in the past (yeah, i know, SHOCKER to most of you - this is the FIRST pre-season where i think we don't have a shot at playoffs - every other year i have found a way to convince myself that we have a chance, i wish you all had the opp to have experienced THAT Ouchie, but alas, you got this one instead, maybe next preseason will be different, who knows), but i AM excited to see what we have. the competition at WR and LB should be great and i cannot wait to see someone, ANYONE, other than jake behind center! it's almost time to see red!

Competition is a great thing. I feel that a new wind is blowing for the Cards and that, for once, there is actually good reason to be excited by the opening of the preseason for the club. Can't wait till they strap on the pads! Screw baseball, its time for the REAL national pastime.
