Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll had a nightmare day at IIHF World Championships originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Toronto Maple Leafs' season is long over, but Joseph Woll is still playing hockey.
Woll is a member of Team USA at the IIHF World Championships, one of the goalies called up for a tournament that has depleted rosters as it takes place only a few months after the Olympics.
It's a big opportunity for Woll, but he hasn't made the most of it so far.
On Monday, he was pulled after facing just 10 shots on goal. That's because of those 10 shots, 5 of them ended up as goals.
The USA's Joseph Woll has been pulled after letting in five goals on ten shots against Finland.
He has since been replaced by Devin Cooley.#MensWorldspic.twitter.com/aOxVeRwzHZ

It's certainly not what anyone watching from back in Toronto would want to see. The Maple Leafs have a lot of decisions to make this offseason, and goalie is one of them.
There's a case to be made that the Leafs will have four playable goalies for the 2026-27 NHL season, and Woll is a possible trade candidate.
More trade rumors have included Anthony Stolarz, but clearly having multiple players with appeal to other teams can only help negotiations.
Instead, though, Woll is getting shelled while playing at the World Championships, and anyone looking to trade for him will have that sour taste in their mouth as they consider making an offer to Toronto.
