Longtime Flour Bluff tennis coach Steve Bonds is one of three coaches that have been selected for induction into the Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame in the Class of 2026.
Bonds has guided Hornets to 17 district championships and to the UIL State Tennis Tournament 13 times since beginning at the school in 2003.
Flour Bluff finished 26-1 and as state runner's up last season in Class 5A team tennis, becoming the second school from Corpus Christi to advance to the state final, and freshman girls singles player Victoria Diaz captured a silver medal at this year's UIL state tournament.
The Hornets also had a pair of boys doubles teams advance to the UIL State Tournament.

Bonds will join Uvalde's Terri Rambie and Robinson's Jack Gregory as part of the class, which will be inducted during the annual Texas Tennis Coaches Assocition Convention in December.
He has also spent time coaching at El Campo (1991-94) and Amarillo High (1994-2003) in addition to 23 years at Flour Bluff.
