Florida State baseball is proving once again why they are a force to be reckoned with nationally. After defeating the then-No. 7 Virginia Cavaliers in a three-game series, D1Baseball's Kendall Rogers has declared the Seminoles as one of last week's "big winners."

"[The Seminoles] played inspired baseball throughout the weekend in Charlottesville, and now have a marquee road series win," he wrote. Going on the road, FSU was just 5-1 going into their matchup with Virginia, not having been tested on the road quite like this.

Florida State would go on to lose the first game, 4-3. However, they evened up the series with a 5-2 win and secured the series with a 9-3 blowout on Saturday. They are now 24-7 overall and 9-3 in conference play.

Even without the services of the injured Myles Bailey, Rogers noted, "FSU is now an impressive 9-3 in the ACC and now knows that it, indeed, can win a massive series without Bailey’s services."

The Seminoles will first welcome their rival, the Florida Gators, to Tallahassee on Tuesday before traveling to Atlanta for perhaps an even tougher test, a three-game series against the No. 2 team in the land, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, on Thursday.
