The SEC Baseball Tournament is officially in the books, with the Georgia Bulldogs — who bounced the Florida Gators from the bracket in the semifinals — taking home the 2026 trophy after also winning the regular-season title.
While Kevin O'Sullivan's squad fell short of their conference championship aspirations, they still had a solid showing in the tournament this past weekend, earning an 8-3 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores in the second round, followed by a 13-3 run-rule victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the semifinals.
As a result of that success, the Orange and Blue were promoted three spots in the post-tournament edition of the USA TODAY Sports Baseball Coaches Poll, moving up to No. 14. That puts Florida between the No. 13 Arkansas Razorbacks, who the Gators swept in Fayetteville at the end of March, and No. 15 Kansas Jayhawks.
Next up for Florida is the Gainesville Regional, which it will host for the 20th time starting on Friday, May 29, and going through Monday, June 1, if needed. The eighth-seeded Gators open up play against the Rider Broncos at 1 p.m. E.T. inside Condron Family Ballpark.
Georgia moved up a spot to No. 3 and remains the highest-ranked among Southeastern Conference schools, followed by the Texas Longhorns (No. 5), Auburn Tigers (No. 6) and Texas A&M Aggies (No. 10) in the top 10. The Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 13), Florida (No. 14), Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 16), Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 17), Ole Miss Rebels (No. 20) and Tennessee Volunteers (No. 25).
The Oklahoma Sooners are the only other conference team on the ballot with 10 votes.
