The focus for Alabama men's basketball isn't just on the present. The offseason has been spent shaping future rosters, and the one coming off of the Crimson Tide's most recent Sweet 16 run has been one of the busiest yet on the recruiting trail.
Alabama coach Nate Oats and assistant Preston Murphy have yet to secure a commitment from a class of 2027 prospect. Yet, more than a handful are considering taking their talents to Tuscaloosa.
Here are five recruiting bits to know as August begins.

The 6-foot-7 shooting guard narrowed down his top seven on Friday, July 31, per Rivals' Joe Tipton. He has an official visit to Alabama scheduled for Sept. 25 and is also due for trips to Vanderbilt and Rutgers. Other schools in consideration for the rising senior out of Ambassador Christian in North Carolina are Texas Tech, Utah and Wake Forest.
The Chicago native is considering the Crimson Tide, along with Arkansas, Marquette, Michigan, Missouri, Syracuse and TCU, according to Tipton. The 6-foot-3 4-star guard has taken unofficial visits to Michigan and Marquette and his only scheduled OV at this time is to Missouri on Oct. 3.
Malachi Jordan — a 6-foot-6 small forward and the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2027 class in the Rivals Industry Ranking — has the Crimson Tide in his top eight, also including Kansas, Ohio State, Tennessee, UConn, USC, Vanderbilt and Washington. Tipton reported in June that Jordan scheduled an OV to Alabama for Oct. 10, which would follow visits to USC, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and UConn.
The No. 35 overall recruit is due to visit Alabama when Crimson Tide football faces Florida State on Sept. 19. Lumpkin is a 6-foot-4 rising senior at McEachern High in Georgia and has taken multiple unofficial visits to Tuscaloosa, his most recent trip in May.
Jamison, a 4-star point guard out of Calvary Baptist Academy in Louisiana, plans to visit Tuscaloosa on the same day as Jordan when Alabama football faces Georgia in October. He took an unofficial visit to Alabama in January and has since taken OVs to Iowa and Maryland, all among his top 10 with Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Oklahoma State and SMU.

Alabama basketball among top 7 for 4-star RJ Moore
