Alabama basketball has the first commit of its 2027 recruiting class

After a recent official visit to Tuscaloosa, 4-star Anderson Diaz has committed to the Crimson Tide, per On3’s Joe Tipton.

LOOKING AHEAD: Amari Allen's return to Alabama basketball isn't out of the question

Diaz is a point guard at Overtime Elite in Atlanta. In the 247Sports Composite, he ranks third among players from Georgia and No. 29 nationally.

Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati and Florida State were among other programs to offer the 6-foot-1, 180 pounder who hails from the Bronx, New York.

Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats and staff offered Diaz in October 2025.
