It was a close game after the opening eight minutes, then the Riverhawks started to separate themselves to an eventual 54-39 non-league win over the Trojans on Monday night at home.
Ryah Stanley and Sidney Kruger each finished with 18 points to lead Toledo (8-3). Kruger scored at least four points in every quarter and finished with six rebounds while Stanley notched five steals. Ellie Fallon had nine points and nine boards.
"We continue to have different girls contribute and step up every night," Riverhawks head coach Brian Layton said.
Pe Ell (2-7) dropped its fourth game in a row. Karli Phelps was a single player wrecking crew with a game-high 27 points, including all 15 in the first quarter. Peyton Zock scored nine points and snared a team-best 13 rebounds.
"She mentally just came into this game ready to leave it all out on the court, and she did just that," Pe Ell head coach Kelsey Lennox said of Phelps. "Probably her best game yet."
The Trojans get their first Columbia Valley game on Tuesday versus rival Oakville. Toledo faces Willapa Valley on Wednesday before the C2BL opener versus Mossyrock on Friday.
