I thought he just signed an extension with Denver??
Vance Joseph has not signed a contract extension with the Denver Broncos as of late January 2026. Instead, as the current defensive coordinator, he is a highly sought-after candidate for various head coaching vacancies across the NFL following a successful 2025 season

I chose LeFleur just because he's the more exciting on the face of it (Offensive, Rams, McVay offense, knows division), but I suspect Campanile might end up being the better.

Watched several LeFleur interviews now and he doesn't scream "Leader of men". In his one outing as a play caller he failed (albeit with a bad roster). There's no league buzz (that I have seen) about how players love working with him or will run through walls for him etc etc. He seems a well respected passing game coordinator/assistant, which is what he essentially is for the Rams despite his title.

Campanile on the other hand is less attractive on paper but I've read plenty of buzz that his players love him. Apparently a great leader. Who may actually be better suited to being HC. But if it's Campanile we likely get Shane Waldron, Darrell Bevell, Frank Smith or Spencer Whipple as OC, and I don't particularly like any.

I suspect LeFleur could put together a better staff than Campanile.

Kubiak pulled out of all HC openings. So I read.
I can only find Klay opting out

Although he has been a candidate in multiple head coaching searches this month, 49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak has removed himself from consideration, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports. Kubiak will remain in San Francisco in 2026.

Klint is still in the playoffs and has to wait

Actually, Mike wanting LeFleur has tipped the balance. If Mike wants him he's almost certainly wrong.

Everything about Leleur I have watched says "Little brother". From his voice, to his size, to his body language. Screams beta male.

Give me Campanile.

not that I know of he's considered a candidate for the Buffalo job and was thought to be a leading candidate for ours until the rumored final 3 didn't include him.

Not saying he's my choice, my choice was Saleh, just seems like the type of hire Bidwill would make because he's worked for us before.

If he's not I guess I would prefer LaFleur or Campanile, Morris has had his chances not succeeded. 37-56 career record

I lean Campanile, but want to know who he has in mind for OC

I would be fine with LaFleur -- but am 100% influenced by him being Mike's preference. Mike needs to Constanza decisions

Eh I have to discount the players love him angle. Players loved Romeo Crennel. Players loved Antonio Pierce. I think if you Google the players love him angle, you literally find dozens of instances of players loving a coach who failed over and over.

The players here seemed to really like Gannon and staff too, but that's not a good reason to put a candidate on top of one another.

I think my bias is that I want an offensive coach, but there are obvious examples of defensive guys who've won big recently.

I agree. If he helps the players win, they will love him and go to war with him. Shanahan doesn’t strike me as a very charismatic guy, but I am sure their plays are well satisfied with him.

So from just watching interviews of both, I will have to say, Campanile DOES look more like an NFL HC. LaFleur just doesn't seem like a leader, we should know from watching Kliff for years.

For me, I've wanted the Cardinals to tap into that Shanahan/McVay brain trust for years, but I don't know if LaFleur is the guy.

I think the problem is we don't know what kind of staff any of these coaches could put together, that's the known unknown.
And the longer we take to hire a coach and the faster other teams act, the pool of available coaches gets smaller. A drawback for always being one of the last teams to hire someone, and no doubt one of the biggest issues with the Gannon era.

I started this process wanting Klint Kubiac out of Seattle, but it's starting to feel like LeFleur is going to be the pick. If it's going to be a no head-coaching experience coordinator, he seems as up to it as any. At least he's been around some decent coaches over the last few years, and has some family pedigree on his side.

Honestly, I think it's irresponsible to not bring in Sean McDermott, but I recognize that Bidwill is unlikely to pay him market value, and Sean may simply not want to work for the Cardinals.

Go Cards!!!

This is kinda what you run into when you are hiring a 38 year old. McVay was kinda like that too. Coen came across as a bit of an jerk. Kubiak has a rep of being awkward. If LaFleur can come in with a plan and execute it, the rest can get figured out. Kliff's issue was, IMO, not being firmer with his QB from day 1. WE will see how LaFleur adjusts though I would expect Cousins to be brought in if he is hired. I imagine you see a lot of connection to ATL.

Maybe Grizzard as OC. Morris or someone as DC. Maybe Morris gets you to Ledford as OL or OC. My guess is that AZ will want to be the first team to hire a Rams asst so that they get first pick at some of the connected coaches.
