Tune had a very fine college career. 4000 yards and 40 passing TDs his final season. Houston didn’t go anywhere, but Beck never passed for 4000 yards despite being surrounded by superior talent.

I’ve come to the conclusion let Beck start. If he succeeds ( miracles happen) then the 27 draft looks a lot different. If he fails, well, who cares? We are only going to win 3-4 games this year anyway.

I'm not a JB fan, but why if he is the starter, should he not get a starter salary? It's also not OUR money, I won't shed tears over Bidwill, M. having to spend more.

It's not like saving money on JB will have us spend it elsewhere, that's not how the Cardinals have ever rolled.

It’s not your money. The cards don’t have anyone to spend it on anyway. This is the least convincing argument about giving him a raise.

You can't go into the year with that kind of thinking. How many wins were the Patriots and Seahawks predicted to win last year with Maye and Darnold? You start your best players at the beginning of the year. If the team is failing, then you look to the younger guys. The Cards offense with Brissett put up good enough numbers to win games with a competent defense.
Adding Love, LaFleur, some OL prospects and healthy Marv, who's to say the offense can't put up enough points next year? They did last year with none of that.

Arguing over probably 3-5 million on a likely 1-year deal to make your starting QB the lowest paid starting QB in the league, and actually pay him more than his backup, is preposterous.

Other than Texas Tech and UTSA (ranked #25 and #24), Houston only met bad teams on their way to 8-5. Meanwhile, in Beck’s last season he played against multiple ranked teams, including wins over #7, #6 and #2, and took his team to the National Championship Game.

I have no idea how you can compare Beck and Tune, and it would be crazy to not evaluate Beck before replacing him.
