No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza can officially begin the next chapter of his career.

The Las Vegas Raiders officially signed Mendoza to his rookie contract on Thursday, allowing the quarterback to enter his first training camp without having to worry about his contract status. The former Indiana quarterback was one of just a few players who hadn't signed their rookie deals yet.

Mendoza was the clear-cut No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft and hopes to turn around a Raiders team that was the worst team in the NFL last year. There was never any real drama surrounding Mendoza's contract status, but this puts to bed any possibility of a contract standoff in training camp.

Fernando Mendoza contract details​

  • Value: $57.27 million

Mendoza agreed to a four-year, $57.27 million fully guaranteed rookie deal with the Raiders, the standard contract for the No. 1 overall pick. Like every first-round selection, Mendoza's deal includes a fifth-year option that must be picked up after his third season in the league.

Mendoza was one of the last unsigned players from the 2026 draft, but now doesn't have to worry about his contract as he heads into his first training camp with Las Vegas.
