Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, remains unsigned.

It’s not an issue yet, but with the Raiders’ rookie training camp reporting date looking in nine days, time is running short.

Still, it’s not unusual for the the top pick to be unsigned this close to training camp. Here is a look at the past 10 No. 1 overall picks and their signing dates:

2025, Cam Ward, Tennessee Tians, May 21.

2024, Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears, July 16.

2023, Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers, July 21.

2022, Trayvon Walker, Jacksonville Jaguars, May 12.

2021, Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars, July 5.

2020, Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals, July 28.

2019, Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals, May 9.

2018, Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns, July 24.

2017, Myles Garrett, Cleveland Browns, May 19.

2016, Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams, June 9.

So, four of the 10 players signed after today’s date and none of them went back July 28. The Raiders’ first full team training camp practice is July 29. So, while it may be a bit unnerving that Mendoza is not yet signed, it’s not overly unusual for the top pick to be unsigned on July 14 in recent NFL history.

Does this information make you feel more comfortable with Mendoza’s situation?
