Let me start off by saying that I have been a Warner backer from the first day they signed him ,to the day they re-signed him, and up until "The Fumble" as we will affectionately remember it.
We all have said at one time or another that it's just a matter of time until Warner gets hurt. We all kinda felt that sooner or later this year Leinart would see some playing time.
Many seemed to be concerned that if we start Leinart we will be feeding him to the wolves. If thats the case , then what is Warner against a defense like the Falcons? It's like shooting fish in a barrell!
At least we can design some moving pockets and roll outs with Leinart.
The only thing that Warner brings to the table is his experience and that has not proved to be a big advantage when you look back at the ints, fumbles, poor decisions, and even more disturbing holding onto the ball WAY too long only to get pounded by opposing defenses.
How many fumbles? How many int's? ANd how different off a game would it have been if the 49er player holds on to the ball that hit him in the chest in the first quarter on opening day. Oh, and who can forget the wounded duck that was intended for Bergen?
Will it really make a whole hell of a difference if Leinart sits 1 more game? Or 3 more games? Or 1 more quarter?
When you are the back up Qb, you are ALWAYS 1 play away from playing.

Sorry Kurt. I've seen enough. You had your day in the sun, but the magic is gone. Be a good soldier, help Matt, and stay prepared. I'll pull for you if your are our last resort, but today , you are not.

Bring on the wolves.

Desperate move by a worthless coach. The losing will continue.

And thankfully, Green won't be around IF Arizona ever turns things around.

What a cowardly act. Let's see if he has the same b@lls when it's time to tell Edge to sit down. Which, with his 3.4 yard avg and, constant failures in short yardage, SHOULD be any day now. Oh I ofrgot, he wants the ball <<gag, puke,>> more!

Especially with hie "me first" attitude.

What a joke...

Speaking as a supporter of Warner, I for one have seen enough.

It's hard to do a lot worse than 8 turnovers in 2 games

I'm thinking the only joke is this here post...Edge has gotten tough yards, one could say he's gotten as many as anyone possibly could with our line. And he wants the ball because he thinks he can help the team win games. You don't want that kind of attitude on the team?

Of all your 59 posts that has to be the worst. Do you even watch the games? Or get cable for that matter? What a joke. If you think Edge is the problem you might want to cut down on the drinking/pot smoking/LSD use.......

Yanking a guy who's turned the ball over 8 times in two games, including 3 times 3 TIMES IN THE REDZONE last week and cost us the game a "desperate move"? What?....gees, pass it to the left...don't bogard

Trust me.

edge isn't the problem. the problem is miss assingments, dropped balls, penalities, and turnovers. how many turnovers does james have. i believe it is zero. how many penalities has edge committed. i can't remeber any. how many miss assingments has edge missed. i havn't seen one. i don't remeber edge dropping a ball when it was thrown to him. edge isn't the problem. so enough finger pointing and let do our job and root for the cardinals.

I am of two minds on the situation. Firstly, it will be throwing Leinart to the wolves, but it has to happen sometime. Would it be better to do it now with an offense in place or next year with a new system that the whole team is learning? I can tell you that there is not going to be a lot of help in free agency next year so we can forget retooling the whole line with better players. Now or later, there will never be a perfect time for him to play as long as we are a bad team.

Secondly, do we believe that we could have won these past two games without the turnovers? If the answer is yes and we believe that with our talent alone we can beat teams sans turnovers, this is a good move. If Leinart can take what the defense gives him and take advantage of the opportunites that are there while not making mistakes...this is the move to make. The Steelers believed that when Maddox came back from his injury. They decided that while Maddux might have been the better QB (at the time) that Roethlisberger eliminated the turnovers and let their pure talent win games.

Honestly, I don't love either plan...but we don't have the luxury of doing nothing. Put Leinart in and see of his quick delivery makes a difference on our pass protection. Put him in and see if his mobility opens up plays down the field. Put him in and see if he can lead this team. Put him in and lets see our future now rather than later.

Come on look we get it, you like Warner, not that long ago you were telling me that Kurt doesn't really fumble all that much, now you're saying after last week that replacing him is desperate? Nobody says its permanent, hell we don't even know if he WILL replace Kurt yet but if he does after what happened Sunday who can blame Green?

Now if he's stupid again and gives Matt no notice like he did with Shaun King I'll be right there with you calling Green an idiot but we don't know that yet. You can't win NFL games with a QB turning the ball over this much, you can't keep fumbling and throwing picks it has to stop. If anybody here believes that all we need is for Green to simply tell Kurt hey be more careful, protect the ball, you're delusional look at his last few years he simply does NOT protect the ball he holds it forever trying to go downfield and that's why he fumbles so much he gets hit alot. The fumble Sunday was not like that but many of the ones he's had in recent years are. He simply holds the ball too long, he can still be a very effective QB at times but he's not going to magically start being careful it's just not in his nature.

I'm not sold that the move to Leinart is going to happen.

- The news reports all hedge - citing ESPN as the source of the info (and even some ESPN guys are qualifying the reports)

- Maybe it will happen, but I think it's more likely the Cards will stick with KW.

- But the move could possibly happen if (a) it turns out KW did, in fact, suffer a mild concussion, (b) if DG feels he has to shake up his players to get them out of the post-Ram funk or (c) it's (God forbid) a PR move dictated at least in part by management in light of post-Ram fan and media furor.

- My favorite theory is that DG leaked the story as a "possibility" (but won't make the move) in order to (a) wake up his players (Macklin's benching was the first wake-up call), (b) fire a warning shot across Warner's bow and/or (c) make it easier to promote Leinart later on in the season if events dictate.

- I'll probably wind up with egg on my face (since the entire media community seems to be strongly implying that the move to Leinart is a done deal) but, if I were a betting man, I'd say there's a 67% chance KW will remain our starting QB and 33% chance it will be Leinart.

Our CB covering Holt had a lot to do with losing this game don't you think? Not swtching to another QB to cover him was foolish at best and dumb at best.

I rewatched the game and Rolle was coveing Holt for a good portion of the game--they switched it up a lot.

But to answer your question: No. It didn't have anything to do with losing the game. The Rams only scored one TD--and it was on a drive in which they got the ball from Warner.

that is right. the defense did do their job. this offense is what killing the cardinals. this offense should score 24/28 points a game with no problem. it is the turn overs and penalities that are killing this team. turn the ball over 3 times in the redzone and you will lose every time.
