Let me start off by saying that I have been a Warner backer from the first day they signed him ,to the day they re-signed him, and up until "The Fumble" as we will affectionately remember it.
We all have said at one time or another that it's just a matter of time until Warner gets hurt. We all kinda felt that sooner or later this year Leinart would see some playing time.
Many seemed to be concerned that if we start Leinart we will be feeding him to the wolves. If thats the case , then what is Warner against a defense like the Falcons? It's like shooting fish in a barrell!
At least we can design some moving pockets and roll outs with Leinart.
The only thing that Warner brings to the table is his experience and that has not proved to be a big advantage when you look back at the ints, fumbles, poor decisions, and even more disturbing holding onto the ball WAY too long only to get pounded by opposing defenses.
How many fumbles? How many int's? ANd how different off a game would it have been if the 49er player holds on to the ball that hit him in the chest in the first quarter on opening day. Oh, and who can forget the wounded duck that was intended for Bergen?
Will it really make a whole hell of a difference if Leinart sits 1 more game? Or 3 more games? Or 1 more quarter?
When you are the back up Qb, you are ALWAYS 1 play away from playing.
Sorry Kurt. I've seen enough. You had your day in the sun, but the magic is gone. Be a good soldier, help Matt, and stay prepared. I'll pull for you if your are our last resort, but today , you are not.
Bring on the wolves.
