Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski is addressing the media before the team kicks off its three-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday afternoon. Stefanski provided an update on Michael Penix Jr.'s health, saying the third-year quarterback was still not fully cleared for 11-on-11 work.

"He's not cleared for 11-on-11," Stefanski said of Penix. "So we'll continue with the plan with what Mike has done. To date, very pleased with the work that he's putting in. He's exactly where he needs to be. We'll just continue to lean on medical and Mike and continue to make good decisions for his rehabilitation."

Penix injured his knee during a Week 11 game against the Carolina Panthers last season. The former top-10 pick suffered a partially-torn ACL in his left knee, which wasn't the same one that he tore twice in college. Nonetheless, knee injuries are always tough to predict.

"We're not giving out any jobs in June," Stefanski said of the quarterback battle.

The Falcons have been relatively cautious with Penix up to this point but allowed him to throw in individual drills during OTAs. The third-year QB needs all of the reps he can get now that he's in a battle with veteran Tua Tagovailoa.

Last season, Penix passed for 1,982 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions for the Falcons before his injury.

Check back for more from Stefanski's press conference and updates from the team's Tuesday practice.

Atlanta's three-day mandatory minicamp runs from June 16-18, then the team breaks for summer and returns in July for training camp.
