Formula 1 resumes its 2026 season at the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, returning to the Miami International Autodrome after an unexpected five-week hiatus and the FIA’s latest tweaks to the hotly debated regulations.

First held in 2022, the Miami race has quickly become one of F1’s highest-profile U.S. stops. Built around the Hard Rock Stadium complex, the tight street-style circuit is set to remain on the calendar until at least 2041 after a historic long-term deal.

Mercedes arrives in Miami as the team to beat after winning the opening three rounds of the season, but it is teenager Kimi Antonelli who leads the championship after taking victory in the last two events, surely hoping to keep his momentum going. He holds a nine-point advantage over team-mate George Russell in the standings.

After Friday’s single practice session and sprint qualifying, Saturday raises the stakes with the sprint race followed by qualifying for Sunday’s grand prix. With limited practice time, new regulatory changes and a title fight already forming inside Mercedes, Saturday could play a major role in shaping the rest of the weekend.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s running at the Miami Grand Prix.
