ESPN should be a bit less biased in Serena Williams Wimbledon match

Serena Williams made her return to professional tennis on Tuesday at Wimbledon, and ESPN could not get done touting her greatness.

She is the greatest of all time. Everyone knows it, including her opponent Maya Joint.

However, the network could not get done talking about Joint’s 11-match losing streak, noting that she has not won a tour-level match since January.

Do better ESPN​


Caroline Wozniacki, Mary Joe Fernandez, and Chris Fowler had to admit that Joint was playing well after she won the first set.

Andy Roddick admitted it was the best he saw Joint play the entire year.

We know everyone is for Serena, but the rest of us are for competitive, unbiased tennis coverage by the network who is supposed to be providing that.

Chris Fowler, at one point, was speculating if Joint would get nervous almost attempting to manifest it happening.

Tennis wins regardless of the final score​


No matter who wins the match, WTA tennis is the victor. So many eyes on the sport on a Tuesday afternoon is a blessing.

ESPN needs to get out of its own way and just call the match.

Serena, Venus doubles pairing is still on tap at Wimbledon​


I was always more excited about the Serena and Venus doubles pairing. I felt as though Serena took the wildcard too quickly. My assumption was that she was working toward singles play at the US Open.
