Star Alabama guard Labaron Philon Jr. has recently been ranked as the one of the best players in March Madness, per ESPN’s Jeff Borzello and Myron Medcalf.

Philon finds himself ranked at No. 6 on Borzello and Medcalf’s list, as the talented sophomore has proved on numerous occasions this season that he will step up on the offensive end of the floor when needed.

Philon has been the focal point of the Tide’s offense throughout the entire 2025-26 campaign. The star guard will need to stay red hot throughout the NCAA Tournament, as Philon is an excellent candidate to become the player that defines the March Madness success for Alabama.

Philon averaged a team high 21.7 points per game this season, along with 3.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists. The playmaker has been widely regarded as a top player in the nation throughout the entire regular season, as Philon has dominated in the Tide’s backcourt on a nightly basis.

Philon will more than likely thrive yet again vs. Hofstra in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, as the star guard is certainly a key player for Alabama this March.
