This year’s draft wasn’t just a learning experience for players; it was one for Baltimore’s coaching staff, too.
During an appearance on 105.7 The Fan alongside Bruce Cunningham and former Raven and Super Bowl Champion Femi Ayanbadejo, Eric DeCosta revealed that several members of the Ravens’ new coaching staff had never experienced an NFL Draft room before.
DeCosta explained earlier in the interview that Baltimore spent much of the offseason teaching the new coaches how the organization’s scouting and draft process works. The comments offered an interesting behind-the-scenes look at how much of a transition has taken place inside the building this offseason.

“A lot of these guys came from college, and they’ve never been in the draft room during the draft. In the fifth round this year, we brought the coaches in so they could experience it right up close and personal.”
