VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Binghamton Bearcats opened their series against UMass Lowell with a doubleheader on Friday. Game 2 was postponed due to the weather and will be played Saturday, but Game 1 featured a major career milestone.

Binghamton defeated the River Hawks 6–2, with four of those runs coming from Emma Lawson. She went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, drove in four runs, and scored twice. Both of her runs came off home runs, one in the fourth inning and another in the fifth.

With her four RBIs, Lawson became just the 10th player in program history to surpass 100 career RBIs.

The Bearcats will wrap up their regular season this weekend as they finish the series against UMass Lowell.

Binghamton has officially clinched the No. 2 seed in the America East Conference Tournament, which will be hosted by the University of Maine. Bryant has secured the No. 1 seed. With UMBC forfeiting its season, the tournament will feature a unique five-team format.

As the No. 2 seed, Binghamton will open play against the No. 5 seed, the host Maine Black Bears.
