ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The new season of Elmira Pioneers baseball is here.
Friday night, Elmira hosts Batavia in the season-opening game at Historic Dunn Field. The Pioneers welcome the Batavia Muck Dogs at 6:30 pm with fireworks to follow after the game. On Thursday, the Pioneers held their annual media day at Woodbrook Senior Living in Elmira.
Players and personnel from the team had the opportunity to interact with community members and take part in a full media day experience. That experience also included a special singing of happy birthday to 88-year-old Donald Deane who celebrated with friends and members of the Elmira Pioneers.
