Florida State was named in the top six for 2027 blue-chip safety about a week ago. Now, the Seminoles set in an even better position as they have been named to a more exclusive group this week.

"I don't have a favorite but I've got a two schools that stand out: it's just FSU and Tennessee right now," Poole told Noles247.

FSU's safety coach Evan Cooper is dug in when it comes to getting Poole to commit to the program as he sees him as a versatile player within Tony White’s 3-3-5 scheme. The two spent significant time together last week, and Poole raved about what Cooper is doing with the safety room.

"It was good. I think he's got got all of the guys around, the DBs, I think he's got them close," Poole said of Cooper. "And they built a brotherhood off of how he acts towards them. Just him in person, on the field coaching his guys, they trust him. That matters to me is trust."

LSU, Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson are all working to get official visits locked in with Poole. Florida State doesn't have to wait as they have a multi-day official visit scheduled for June 19-21.

Poole is the nation's No. 52 overall recruit and the No. 4 safety according to 247Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is the No. 3 prospect in the state of Georgia as well.

This would be a major commitment for FSU to get. With several elite programs in the mix, they need to keep themselves near the top as the process continues.
