Florida State didn't extend an offer to elite 2027 quarterback Israel Abrams until January. Despite this, they did enough to land among his top five schools.

Abrams mentioned a few weeks ago that he saw FSU as a perfect fit. Also, he claimed that the Seminoles left him speechless after his visit to Tallahassee last week. However, it was to no avail.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder went on the Pat McAfee Show to make his decision. Abrams committed to the Miami Hurricanes over Florida State. The Hurricanes also beat out Auburn, Kentucky, and Purdue.

One thing is for certain: Miami is getting a very good player in Abrams. He was able to lead Montini Catholic High School to a 14-0 record and a state title after a huge junior year. Abrams completed 68.5% of his passes for 4,072 yards and 40 touchdowns to only six interceptions. He also ran for 224 yards and scored 10 more touchdowns.

FSU was facing an uphill battle for Abrams. They got close to landing him, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. With that said, it's back to the drawing board for the Seminoles as they look for a quarterback commit in the 2027 class.
