South Dakota's high school golfers and softball players concluded their 2026 spring seasons last week and are front and center in the latest Watertown Public Opinion-Aberdeen News Athlete of the Week poll.
We've picked 11 Watertown and Aberdeen area standouts who turned in top performances in state golf and softball tournaments from June 1-7.
Now it's your turn. You get to decide the winner. Voting will remain open until midnight on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Congratulations are in order for Iroquois-Lake Preston senior track standout Hadlee Holt, who won Watertown Public Opinion-Aberdeen News Athlete of the Week honor for May 25-31.
March 23-29: Bentley Bauer, Mobridge-Pollock girls track.
March 30-April 5: Aubrey Lanners, Deuel softball.
April 6-12: Brady Allen, Milbank baseball.
April 13-19: Olivia Braun, Aberdeen Central girls golf.
April 20-26: Mackenzie Wegehaupt, Aberdeen Roncalli girls golf.
April 27-May 3: Claire Horn, Castlewood softball.
May 4-10: Korbin Stark, Faulkton Area boys track and field.
May 11-17: Logan Schell, Watertown softball.
May 18-24: Castlewood softball (Team of the Week).
May 25-31: Hadlee Holt, Iroquois-Lake Preston track.
