Nick Sirianni would love to hire another one of his close friends or disciples for the offensive coordinator role, and he's reached out to Indianapolis to see what comes of it. Mike Garafalo reports that the Eagles requested an interview with Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter for the same role in Philadelphia.

He previously worked with the Eagles in 2021 as a consultant after being fired by the Lions. Sirianni and Cooter worked together in Kansas City back in 2012, when he was the Chiefs' wide receivers coach, and Cooter was a quality control coach who helped Sirianni coach wideouts.

Cooter, 38, got his start coaching in the NFL with the Colts as an offensive assistant under former head coach Jim Caldwell for three seasons (2009-2011).

Cooter served as an offensive quality control coach for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012, and then as an offensive assistant coach with the Denver Broncos in 2013. He subsequently joined the Detroit Lions' staff as the quarterbacks coach for two seasons, from 2014 to 2015. During Cooter's three full seasons as the offensive coordinator, the Lions ranked 16th in points scored and 20th in total yards. Under his leadership, former Lions quarterback Matt Stafford achieved four consecutive seasons with over 4,000 passing yards and earned his only career Pro Bowl selection.
