Indianapolis Colts' offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter has an interview request.

According to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Philadelphia Eagles would like to interview Cooter for their coordinator opening.

Since Cooter does not call the plays for the Colts -- Shane Steichen does -- and the Eagles' job is a play-calling role, Indianapolis cannot block Cooter from interviewing.

Cooter was on the Eagles' staff in 2021 under current head coach Nick Sirianni.

In addition to that, before Steichen took over as the Colts' head coach, he was the Eagles' offensive coordinator. So there is a connection between the current offense that Cooter operates in and what the Eagles have done previously under Sirianni and Jalen Hurts.

This season, the Colts' offense finished eighth in points per game scored and eighth in yards per play.

Through the first half of the season, the Colts had one of the most productive offenses in football, with a scheme that was hard to defend.
