PHOENIX — The A.J. Brown trade saga gained a bit of clarity at the NFL owners meetings. The Philadelphia Eagles are listening to offers, even if fans don’t want to believe it.
Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead confirmed that earlier this week.
Snead said the Rams pursued Brown and had “discussions” with the Eagles around a trade for the three-time All-Pro receiver earlier this offseason.
“We chatted with Philly,” Snead said on PFT Live. “Nothing worked out. There were talks. We had discussions. Didn’t work out. That happens.”
The Athletic reported earlier this month that the Rams and New England Patriots had “serious conversations” with the Eagles involving a deal for Brown.
Some fans didn’t believe that report or other reports around the possibility that the Eagles would trade the 28-year-old. But Snead’s comments confirm the validity of that reporting.
The Eagles are currently +115 on DraftKings to win over 10.5 regular season games during the 2026-27 season. Now, would Howie Roseman actually trade Brown to a team that could stand in the Eagles’ way of making it back to the Super Bowl? That would be extremely unlikely. If they do deal Brown, they’d prefer to send him to an AFC team.
On March 9,Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported that Brown’s “wish list” for a trade included four teams: the Patriots, Chargers, Bills and Chiefs. All AFC teams, for what it’s worth.
As for where things stand currently, Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni didn’t really address the topic this week other than to say that Brown is a member of the team.
“I understand that there’s interest in the A.J. Brown story,” Roseman said, when asked about the team’s relationship with Brown. “My answer to any question on A.J. Brown is, ‘A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.’”
“A.J.’s an Eagle,” Sirianni said. “... That’s where we are.”
We’ll see how long that lasts.
