The Duke Brotherhood recently met at the 2026 NBA Summer League tournament in Las Vegas for a special dinner as university alumni gathered to catch up with each other.

While in attendance, former Blue Devils were asked which Duke alumni would take the hypothetical last shot in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. While many players wanted to answer themselves, one answer was given more than any other. While Grant Hill and Jayson Tatum were mentioned, a current Dallas Maverick was the resounding favorite.

That, of course, was Kyrie Irving, who hit one of the biggest shots in recent NBA Finals history, drilling a 3-pointer to close out the Warriors in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals as a member of the Cavaliers.
