The OregonDucks baseball team has been here before. But they've never got past this round of the Super Regionals since the program returned in 2009.
They are hoping this time is different.
Oregon the 11-seed of the NCAA tournament, will play 6-seed Texas in Game 1 of this Super Regional in Austin with a trip to the Men's College World Series on the line. The Ducks made it here thanks to three wins in the Eugene Regional against Yale, Washington State and finally their rival Oregon State.
As for the Longhorns (43-13), they managed to win their regional with victories over Holy Cross, Tarleton State and a 6-4 win over UC-Santa Barbara to move on in the tournament.
The last time the Ducks were in this position, it was 2024 and Texas was also the site, but the opponent was Texas A&M, where the Aggies won two straight. Oregon is looking for its first trip to Omaha since 1954, which happens to be its only trip there.
Oregon will be going with right-hander Cal Scolari (5-0, 2.70 earned run average) in Game 1 and Texas will counter with lefty Dylan Volantis (9-1, 1.94 ERA). The Ducks have announced Will Sanford will go in Game 2, but the Longhorns have yet to name a starter for Sunday's game.
Game 1 of the Super Regional is set for a 5:06 pm PST first pitch and will be televised on ESPN. Follow along here for our live blog, scores, and analysis.
