New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was pleased to have wide receiver Mack Hollins at practice again on Friday.
Maye addressed the media after the Patriots' most recent practice regarding the perks of having Hollins beside him in run-throughs before the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.
"Man, Mack's been awesome. It's been awesome having him back. He's a great player for us. Been a great player for us all year. Practices hard. He's one of those guys that brings it every day," Maye said.
"I know he started off in OTA's and training camp battling a little injury. But since then, he's been all gas no breaks."
Maye exhibited tentativeness when looking to make plays in New England's divisional round win over the Houston Texans on January 18. Resultingly, the AP NFL MVP finalist committed four fumbles in the game.
Having Hollins, who last played against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 due to an abdominal injury, active in the AFC Championship Game will give Maye another competent wide receiver with flair to target next to leading pass-catcher Stefon Diggs, as well as wide receiver Kayshon Boutte.
The 32-year-old receiver practiced for the second consecutive day. That has given the Patriots confidence that Hollins will be ready to play against Denver despite his questionable status.
The Broncos' pass rush ranks among the best in the NFL, holding opposing attacks to the second-lowest completion percentage in the league at 57.8 percent, in addition to the third-fewest passing touchdowns, with 18 conceded. Maye, the NFL's league-leader in completion percentage at 72.8 percent, can maximize the offense looking for a receiver in Hollins whose 70.8 percent catch rate in 2025 proves his reliability in the open field.
